Emerge Work Experience

RISE UP is partnering with EMERGE and FareShare to recruit and support young people for a fantastic work experience programme.

EMERGE and FareShare work towards improving the economic, social and environmental well-being of local people by promoting the ‘3Rs’ of sustainable resource and waste management – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

There are four opportunities available within FareShare and Emerge’s wood recycling arm, Touchwood:

• Warehouse Assistant
• Kitchen Assistant
• Driver’s Assistant
• Woodwork Recycling Assistant

These are voluntary roles, but expenses are paid and they are a great opportunity for young people to gain meaningful work experience that is transferable into jobs in logistics, hospitality, distribution and carpentry.

Participants will also be offered the opportunity to secure L2 certificates in related areas, such as warehouse safety, food safety and customer service.

Talent RISE can help young people through the short application process.

We can also help them to add the skills and experience they develop through the placement to their CV, and to discuss at future interviews to give them a better chance of securing a job afterwards.
