My week at RISE UP has genuinely been one of the best weeks of my life. RISE UP is a charity ensuring that people reach their full potential. I feel so proud to have been part of that mission, even if only for a short time. Every person I met through this experience was kind, supportive, and incredibly passionate about making a difference.
Right from the beginning, RISE UP made me feel a part of their family by showing me around, introducing me to everyone, and explaining to me how things work in the charity. I felt so welcome and appreciated; it was a huge relief, as work experience can be very nerve-racking. The whole atmosphere was so positive and up lifting. I looked forward each morning to some new knowledge and every day brought some fresh insights and new connections.
The thing that mostly impressed me was the commitment of the RISE UP team to the service of others. People here really believe in what they are doing, and it can be seen in everything they do. They work with amazing companies, like Zally and MBH Global, each genuinely committed to giving back to the community and supporting the mission of RISE UP.
I am particularly grateful that MBH Global donated an iMac that I can keep, which I can use to scale up my work and build a professional portfolio. Access to such technology will definitely make a big difference as I continue to learn about digital marketing and social media. A generous donation like this tends to show just how much MBH Global supports the mission of RISEUP to empower the youth. This will take my skills to the next level, and I'm so grateful for their kindness and belief in my potential! It is not often that large companies are so committed to helping, and it was truly inspiring to hear about the various ways they collaborate with RISE UP in creating more opportunities for people. That reminded me that kind words and compassion may make a great difference, and that we can all do our part to make the world a better place. This week, I have also had a taste of digital and social media marketing, which is just what I'm passionate about! RISE UP allowed their team to let me sit in on meetings and gave hands-on experience in small tasks related to their social media. They made it clear, and explained how much they needed to keep in contact with their supporters, sharing their message with them. I realised how much work goes into each post; it gave me a whole new respect for people in this field. Another highlight of my week at RISEUP was getting the chance to speak with two team members from TalkTalk, one a Lead Business Analyst and Neurodiversity Advocate, and the other a Senior Legal Counsel at PXC. Both were very knowledgeable, and speaking with them gave me fresh perspectives on business, neurodiversity, and professional skills needed in the workplace. I picked up many valuable tips from their experiences, and both of them were really supportive, open-hearted toward my questions. This really gave me valuable insight that I would definitely carry forward in my career journey.I feel so thankful for this opportunity and appreciate all the people at RISE UP for making me welcome and teaching me so much. Meeting the people here was more than just good at their jobs, they were wonderful human beings that really care about making a difference. They showed me that work isn't just about completing the job, but about creating positive change. It's about helping one another, and it's about making an impact in other people's lives. To anyone reading anyone reading who's into charities, social media marketing, or just making a difference, I would recommend 100% getting involved with RISE UP it's been a week that I will truly never forget, and I will most definitely be keeping in contact with everyone I met there as I continue my journey into digital marketing.
